The NHBC’s role is to work with the house-building and wider construction industry to provide risk management services that raise the standards of new homes, and to provide consumer protection for new home buyers.
There are approximately 20,000 house builders and developers on NHBC's Register (known as registered builders or registered developers) who agree to comply with the Rules and Standards when building new homes. NHBC employs over 1,100 staff, including 280 building inspectors across the UK, who carry out and collect data on around one million inspections at key stages of home construction each year.
As well as inspectors, we employ surveyors, engineers, energy assessors, health and safety, training, registration and claims staff, who all deliver NHBC's key services to its customers. NHBC has positioned itself as an expert authority on the housing industry contributing to all aspects of the housing agenda. NHBC Standards are the 'bible' for the registered house builder and provide the benchmark for acceptable levels of design, material specification and workmanship for newly-built homes registered with NHBC. They are an essential part of protecting homeowners. It is important that the Standards are amended to give guidance on methods of construction currently being used. NHBC's Standards Committee reviews such changes, and comprises a range of interested groups, including consumers, professional institutions and house builders.
All of Monarfloor Acoustics products and systems are accepted for use within NHBC registered developments.
